Yeah - me neither - although i might poop in from time to time, and some people are that way inclined, some people like to help and offer advice, a lot. Like SPAWNmaster - he loves helping people.
I thought the same as you about the track ID forum, who'd going to go in there except the people that want tunes ID'd? Turns out that on the 4 or 5 occasions I've posted an ID request in there some helpful soul has answered double quick, with the right answer.
I dunno - now I feel all mean and scrooge like, especially as it's Christmas!

See I think it will just be noobs helping noobs.

it could go either way, i think it could work, maybe just a sticky for 'equipment advice'?? someone should though do a count on how many 'what mixer should i buy' threads there has been in the last 2 months, lol.

Its not just about us. Us meaning the people with a little more experiance than the next guy. Like Zild said, it would be alot of less experianced people trying to help less experianced people. With the forum like it is set up now, it keeps it more mixed. There is something about helping someone out that wants help. You get a certain type of satisfaction out of it. And I have been helped by a thread that a noob has started before too. Its a two way street. I think by spliting the DJ Booth, you would be taking away from the forum. Just my thoughts.
Rock On,
Mike

It's a tough one to call & I agree with pretty much everyones arguments for & against a new forum. I'd probably lean towards leaving it as it is right now but it does get really feckin irritating seeing the same "what mixer/what starter set up/CDJ's or vinyl/what does a CDJ do" threads over & over
It always amazes me that people seem prepared to go out & spend best part of a thousand quid on DJ gear based on the opinion of a dumb fuck like me rather than spending a day in the city testing some equipment themselves

Yep.
Also, if anyone has any idea for new things to add to the stickies thread etc etc - let me know.
Also, I am against the addition of a new forum, for pretty much all the reasons RJT stated - it simply won't help anything.

Yes, a Sticky would be better than create a new forum.

We already have a "what cdj should I buy" thread in the general info sticky - would be neat to get a bunch up there, then I'll sort that sticky like it's been done in the Production Forum.

The thing is, you can sticky what you want - people just don't read them. Put a sticky up there saying NEW EQUIPMENT ADVICE, and I bet within a day you'll get someone asking what starter kit we can recommend.
Something has to be done. A little more agressive closing of unneccessary threads, with a pointer to the sticky?
Any suggestions?

I'm trying to walk a fine line between being a passive and agressive moderators, making some changes, but for the most part just kinda letting things unfold...
I'm just gonna sit back and listen to reactions right now-
