OMG YES I HAD ONE!!! Funny story, lol:
One night I woke up in my sleep to see my dad standing over me...I guess he had come in, like he did every night, to shut the blinds...as we lived near a small airport and the light came into our room. Well he was just STANDING there, not saying anything...so I was like, "Daaad, what are you doing? " But he didn't respond. I called to him again, and still no response.
this had the beggining of a rape/child abuse story

No, it's god damn awful too. No wonder psychologists make such a good living, whole generation of trauma to keep them in a job for life!

Hey, that's not fair. If anything, I was able to battle my own psychological monsters by beating the shit out of my Shabooga (that was his name).
-Kids at school called me an orphan and then pushed me to the ground and peed on me - go home and beat the shit out of Shabooga.
-Baby sister was crying too much and no matter how much you throw at her she won't stop - go beat the shit out of Shabooga.
-Mommy didn't breast-feed me for long enough - go beat the shit out of Shabooga.
So you see? Having a My Pet MonsterTM is actually a very psychologically healthy thing for a young person. It allows for them to develop good habits from the very beginning such as:
-Don't trust ugly people, as they are most likely monsters.
-Beating the shit out of something is definitely the answer to most of life's problems
-Creatures with grotesquely large, pickle-like noses and horns with tufts of flaming pink hair strewn about their mutated, stubby bodies are to be kept in chains at all times. Even when you beat the shit out of them.

You needed a toy to develop good habits?
I just cut out the whole squishy toy thing and beatings mostly because I'm not good at beating things/people up and went on to owning firearms and driving a large, intimidating car in my formative years.
It's served me well and overcome a lot of obstacles which may have led to expensive clinical psycologists appointments and thinking too much.

Ooh, so firearms are actually an investment then?
