He's in the Southern Hemisphere, Bas.

Maaz, in less than two weeks I'll be finished with school completely (at least for now) and in less than two months, I'll be finished with my position on the project that I'm working on and then I'll have a HUGE vacation! I can hardly wait!

Have fun and relax, dude.

Your grammar is terrible.

Hey, that's great to hear! By the way, Stanford seems to be a great to place to be, education way

It's actually a few difficulties foreigners often have in Japanese

終わらない -> 終わってない: It indicates a state of "not having finished", more appropriate to the sentence. To me, "Owaranai" sounds like it's not going to end.
仕方がないですね -> 仕方がないんですね: You can't really get "nai" along with "desu" directly

Other than that, we often find some resistence, until we reach intermediate level, when we try to drop the "desu/masu" endings we see at school and don't hear quite as often in spoken language - so, sometimes, the inconsistency might sound awkward (although it is quite natural... children in Japan, for example, learn to speak without "desu/masu" first, and we're the ones going the other way round ).

But, I must say you're good at getting your point across and having studied about a year, I'd say you're doing quite well

I was a bit uncertain of how owaranai sounded, to be honest. At least you got what I was saying. Haha. Actually, now that I think about it, I KNEW that I was supposed to use te form. I guess I just got a bit ahead of myself.

As for the 'n', I'm 100% sure it pops up in conversation since that's the way I would've said it. I don't converse much on paper/the web so I'm not sure if it sounded funny. Guess not, huh?

As for desu, it's a battle that I keep fighting with myself. Part of me wants to keep it in since it was part of the basics while the other knows that it's rarely heard in everday speak.

Thanks for the commentary.
