I've been using the four pretty much since the beginning of their separate existences (AIM, Yahoo, MSN and ICQ) and I have to say MSN is my current fav. MSN still has nasty fuckups at times (mass exploits), but then again, so does ICQ and AIM. The good things about MSN is that you can login to the service anywhere in the world, it has a nice interface, and it doesn't have distracting ads. Trillian is ok, but it does block out features that come with the standalone progs.

odigo is so fucking annoying though! it like always pops up on your desktop and you can never exit it or whatever.

as for icq, i say screw that. i tried to use it, but i discontinued because the next day i was flooded with porn and someone even tried sending me a virus.

as for yahoo, i have it, but i rarely use it. it doesn't seem so... soft and easy. it's so annoying though when some fucked up tards send you offline messages advertising some porn or some other shit.

question: do you have to have MSN browser installed to use MSN messenger? caz i tried using msn browser alone and it told me it needed to reinstall, caz i uninstalled the bloody messenger caz i didn't need it. so the freaking program redownloaded the whole 16mb, instead of just getting the messenger. that's pretty crappy on a 56k.

MSN does have some flaws (i.e. no message history, sending offline messages) but I've never had a problem like yours with MSN before. Then again, AIM has its flaws too (no msg history and offline messages too). What I find really retarded about AIM is that dumb post meter which limits how many messages you can send per minute (this is supposed to be a security feature to prevent message flooding). But I mean, with almost anyone I chat with over AIM, both of us would keep hitting that message limit and then the conversation gets awkwardly quiet for like 45 seconds. What's up with that?? lol.. AOL also had its fair share of problems with connectivity, and the interface isn't the greatest... and besides, MSN has kickass smilies
