Stopped drinking pop/soda on a regular basis when I started university. I replaced it with water, tea and beer.

I used to drink a lot of soda when I was in high school. Mainly Coke. I hate Pepsi.

Recently I've stopped though, too much sugar. Its not good for you. The only time i drink it now is when its mixed with rum (I actually prefer diet when its mixed with rum) or with jack.

When I'm not drinking alcohol, pretty much all I drink is Tea (normally Iced, I hardly drink coffee), and carbonated water. I find carbonated water is a good substitute for soda. I realized my favorite thing about soda was the carbonation. It helped soothe my stomach. But I figured carbonated water does the job just fine and is much better for you than soda

Right now I'm drinking Sunkist and Canada Dry Ginger Ale, as Coca-Cola prices were a bit high. Once those drop, I'll move back to Coke and Vault. I'll drink any soda drink though, caffeine or not (but I prefer it caffeinated.) And I don't plan on quitting anytime soon.

I really don't see the point in not drinking it. I drink anywhere from 4 to 8 cans a day, but I also drink milk. I like orange juice, but uh, neither of the two I see as a replacement for regular drinking, and I don't drink alcohol, ever.

What's this about 'clearing up skin' ? I'm not familiar with the connection to juices...

4 to 8 cans is a lot of soda. All that sugar is bad for your liver and can increase your risk getting diabetes when you get older.

Course I'm a bit of a hipocrite as I drink lots of alcohol

I think it has to do with acne type problems which are sometimes linked to high amounts of sugar in one's diet. I don't know if this connection is actually supported by medical studies or not, but it is a common perception as immortalized in a memorable commercial that used to run on tv (in Canada anyway, but here's a terrible parody of that commercial.) So I guess wheras juice still contains loads of sugar, it is still far short of what most types of soda/pop contain, which is pretty scary really.

most of the drinks you get in stores are packed with sugar. juice, soda, whatever. i try to stay away from soda but i like sprite the most. i'm an iced tea drinker. and whoever said they drink 4-8 cans of soda a day is freakin crazy. that's a shit-ton of coke, son.

do you call it "soda" or "pop"?

Never been too big into soda.

Actually, I used to drink diet coke quite a bit a ways back...

But now it's 95% water.

I'm 90% water. The only other stuff I drink is milk, orange juice, and alcohol on occasion.
