normal word docs printing. that's all ... nothing fancy
another suggestion is never to buy shit in bestbuy/futureshop
overpriced all the time, best deal would be in some small store downtown

Staples, Samsung ML-2510 monochrome laser printer, $79 until Dec. 24. $90 instant rebate, regular price is $169.
25ppm, toner that comes with it has a ~1000 page yield, the ML-2010D3 toner you buy after (~$95) has an approximate 3000 page yield.
Best bang for the buck by far.
{edit} didn't see that the same printer was posted on a Futureshop link earlier. Either way, the printer fucking rules.

price for the printer does not matter
the most important factor is the price of the ink that you have to purchase after
also it is important to be able to purchase a separate ink colour if you want to buy color printer because if you buy a cheap printer that supports "3inks in 1" cartridge and 1 colour runs out you're fucked.

Sure it matters, considering printers don't last very long these days. What if the printer was $1000, but a huge yield catridge/toner was $10? Would you still buy it?

No but if it was a diference between 79 bucks and 120 bucks then yes i would. Printers that are 1000 dollars are not needed for an end user that just wants to print a doc file.
