Forget the efx get yourself one of these Roland SP-404
I picked one up just the start of this week and its alot of fun for use with house, techno and electro. Their isn't much you can do in terms of tricks and effects when it comes to trance.
I recentley got my djm800, and to be honest, there are so many effects and tricks you can do with it that ill postpone getting an efx for quite some time.

Definate +1
The mixer will save you lots of money in the long run. If you ever wish to mess around and experiment with midi and programs such as Ableton ect. you can do it without buying additional equipment. Not to mention the mixer itself already has effects.
Its pointless to flood your sets with effects, you can do many things with that DJM. My money is on the DJM.
