Ya I thought I would post this after seein so many of you guys out there all or in the audience after a couple of my gigs.

Gotta be careful out there. If you arent getting your stuff from a secured source, then it probably isnt clean to begin with.

I used to get laughed at when I went to Raves sober. What really scared me is this:

"Scientists believe that with continued exposure to methamphetamine and similar types of toxic drugs can eventually cause Parkinsonian symptoms to arise (MDMA(Ecstasy), 1998). "

Attending Raves and being a Raver for many years, I can only estimate how high my friend pill counts are..

I ran into a old friend a few months ago, and what I saw was pretty frightning. I kinda do believe that saying above now...

yeah that whole study was bullshit. they were injecting near-lethal doses of crystal meth into monkeys which is like conducting a study on gunshot wounds using grenades. they did get what they wanted in the end though, which was the rave act of 2003, passed into law based on this faulty information. how convenient that the study was retracted 5 months AFTER congress passed the law which still remains

Why are so many of you TA's using the word "rave" alot lately? That sounds so highschool-ish.

Even if it is a "rave", can't u just call it an "event"? I'd never use the word rave in public.

On another note, I watched one of my close friends as he got really into "the scene," which apparently goes hand-in-hand with getting really into E... Now he has weird ticks and is kind of an asshole.

Although E is definitely my favorite drug (when it's pure!), I've only done it a handful of times, and plan on keeping it that way.

the truth is mdma is not good for you, just like transfats, alcohol and cigarettes, but like all of these things, the damage it does to your health depends on how abusive you are with it. no one knows how bad mdma really is because no one has been allowed to conduct real studies on it since it was reclassified as a schedule 1 drug based on fake studies. but i'm just as certain that someone using mdma once a year won't lose his or her mind as i am that someone who does it every weekend will. it's all about knowing facts from propaganda before making your choices and living in moderation with anything and everything you do.

marijuana doesn't have a physical dependency, that's why you can quit and be your same self a few days later. drugs with physical withdrawals are described to be like "the brain trying to commit suicide"

That's not true. My ex is Canadian, so by default, he's been smkoing everyday since he was like 15. I tried to make him cut down, but he was too moody and felt nauseated (supposidely).

well if you wanna take an extreme example, then yeah... i'd be worried about anyone who starts into any drug habit at that age. the brain undergoes MASSIVE restructuring known as dendrite pruning from the age of puberty until your early 20s. during this period it's rewiring itself, deleting unimportant memory and making itself run more efficiently. long story short: using any mind-altering substances habitually around that age will permanently alter your brain development. everyone i know from high school that started drinking and smoking all the time at that age turned out... slightly "off". however, with most adults that start smoking weed, there is no physical withdrawal effect, otherwise it is incredibly mild.
