don't know how that could offend someone. and yeah, i did just throw it in Glitch and tweak a setting or two. doesn't necessarily mean i'd keep it that way. Glitch isn't 100% random, and can be quite controllable to get a specific effect if used properly, but yeah, i get where you're coming from. in any case, that's def. not how the vocals are staying (notice how i cut out the preamble to the lines "[its going to be a] fine night tonight..." and "[la la la la la]wee la la la", as i was looking to just feel myself into the tempo, and try to keymatch a line or two to the vocals).
i want my end result to be a track that works by itself, or perhaps with a vocal sample or two, and can also work as a full vocal mix.
call me whatever, but it's nice to make a track that while still yours, has the power to make someone just jump up and recognize it... i know this comes from Hawkshaw's work and not mine, but it's still something i want to take some advantage of. it helps get your name out there a bit i guess, when it comes to playing it out some day.

Haha, don't misunderstand the comment about the number of remixes - the number of existing remixes doesn't make a new one any less worthwhile, it just makes it harder to get objective feedback on since it will inevitably get compared with all the other remixes.
As for Glitch, it's not random in the literal sense but it is probablistic which relies on random numbers. Anyway, it's okay to do this for drums in some situations - if I'm bored or lazy I might let Glitch run for about 5 minutes on a drumloop and take whatever cuts sound good, usually ranging from 16th-note lengths to quarter notes. Even then I'll usually tweak some effects while it's running and apply a lot of post-processing afterwards.
But there's a reason you can pretty much never get a good effect using Glitch on vocals, which is that vocals [usually] aren't precisely timed to the beat. For that kind of source material, you really have to seek out the transients with your own eyes and perform the stutters with audio splices. I suppose you don't *have* to, but... it just doesn't make aural sense to have precisely timed effects on non-precise source material. It's okay with gates, but usually that's with long oohs and aahs, not a rhythmic vocal line, so you don't feel the timing differences so much.
Your call of course, I'd personally start over with the vocals.

Like the the stutters, just as everyone said it would be alot sicker if the stutters had more rythmic order. I love the melodic feel at 2:35 as well. this tune is definately worth finishing imo...
