the government won't legalize pot anytime soon, because it'll make them seem dumb for fighting the drug war. the people just don't want to lose their pride/jobs.

It's also one HUGE revenue machine. Look at all of the seizures that they make, it's unbelieveable.

Under federal law, a convicted drug felon's drug profits and proceeds, any property he used to commit the drug crime, and any interest he maintains in a continuing criminal drug enterprise must be forfeited as a part of any sentence (21 USCA Sec. 853). In addition to this mandatory forfeiture provision, federal law subjects other property to civil forfeiture. This property includes: (1) all privately owned vehicles, boats, or aircrafts used to transport or conceal drugs; (2) all money, checks, notes, and securities paid in exchange for drugs; and (3) all real property used to commit a drug felony (21 USCA § 881).


Proceeds from forfeited property are placed in the Department of Justice Assets Forfeiture Fund. The fund is located in the U.S. Treasury and is available to the U.S. attorney general for a number of law enforcement purposes.

The law caps the amount of money that may be paid to informants providing illegal drug information at $250,000. The award for forfeiture information cannot exceed the lesser of $250,000 or one-fourth of the amount realized by the United States from the property forfeited (28 USCA § 524 (c)(2)).

just came back from Amsterdam, where we had a few drinks in the sun, smoked some hash... well, 1 metre of beer per man + 1 gram of hash for 3 guys... well, 3 guys... i left the last for myself... and FUCKING HELL that last one hit me like a bomb, i almost felt straight backward, but i was able to grab the wall, so i wouldnt fall...

I agree..the war on drugs is so ridiculous..especially when the US spends so much in resources going after pot when it's the most innoccuous of drugs

ok here's something interesting....

gold, obviously one of the most precious and rarest things on this planet, currently goes for about US$290 an ounce. marijuana, a plant that grows naturally in many parts of the world, can be worth around US$350 per ounce (good shit). seems a little fucked up that you could buy an ounce of pure gold for less money than an ounce of high quality marijuana.....

you guys wanna legalize pot in the US then go out and get term limitaions on all House and Senate seats because as long as all these old farts are running things this will never happen isnt sad that 1 can be elected and keep his seat for the duration of his life?
personally as it site id rather be in the senate or congress before id want to be president they have no term limitations they vote themselves pay raises and they make the laws (sort of) seems like a win win situation for them
