i miss that re:locate/octagen..
since then his stuff has felt rather cold, without much essence to it. it tries to be banging, but doesn't come off as particularly energetic, and doesn't have much of a groove to back it up. most of the time i think this is down to poor synth-work/choice of kickdrum samples
saying all that though i think this new tune sounds ok.. it sounds warmer, slightly more human. that may be jonas steur's touch though i dunno |
The best comparison between then and now is if you compare the album version of Waterfall with the Original.
Somehow the Album Version, which has been reworked for the album, lacks all the energy
