not necessarialy. most mixes will tend to 'run away' if you put it, however its up to you to continually adjust your pitch to keep it in flow.

kane is absolutely right.

...since the beat is always running away (sometimes faster than others), move the pitch slider BEFORE you actually hear it run away - just try it!

as long as you know in which direction it is drifting, you know you have to adjust the slider at some point. as u get better at hearing and reacting to the drift, your goal is 2 stay AHEAD of the drift, of course. you can call this direction of the drift, the "Bias"

my technique: I always Bias the next track to a slightly higher BPM than old...this way there is no doubt about which way i have to correct it's good to start the fade this way, but it doesn't guarantee anything - just an aid.

and guess what, since you can hear the drifting 2 inches from your ear in your headphones, you will notice 2 or 3 beats before the crowd does....that small window is the DJ's advantage. but reacting to a drift in only 2 or 3 beats will take practice.

**Disclaimer** I'm no expert, BUT...!!!

First off I need to know what you're mixing with, whether it be TTs CDJs or DJ Software before I can properly analyze your mistakes... However...

The biggest mistake in this mix is the tracks you've decided to mix together, most of them plain don't work with eachother and even if you're a wikkidawesomehax technical DJ you're going to have a hard time mixing tracks that dont work... BREATHE... Together.

The beatmatching needs work, remember to beat count and count the bars also! 1 2 3 4 (2) 2 3 4 (3) 2 3 4 etcetcetc! Phrasing and beatmatching are the first steps to being able to mix two tunes together, also knowing when and where to bring a track in is CRUCIAL, you seem to at times randomly throw in tunes, or randomly TRY to throw in tunes then abort. Of course that being said, you've got the ear, you know when something sounds REALLY REALLY awful and when it needs to be changed or done over.

Also, if beatmatching is whats troubling you, aswell as phrasing, try to slow down the BPM drastically when you're just at home practicing (not recording )... That's what helped me learn beatmatching when I was using my CDJs!!!

Phrasing is easy also, lemme try and show a diagram hehe

Thats what you should try and picture in your head, two of those lined up perfectly!

i didnt listen to the mix. but your wrong in some cases you may not have to adjust the mix but then again this usually only happens in cases where your mixes are quite quick. the longer your mixing the more likely you will have to adjust the pitch. if it was just a matter of catching the beat and leaving it jesus we would all be superstar djs after a month.

Your 100% right, i hate riding the pitch so i take a good couple minutes to beatmatch as tight as the two songs allow.
