Impossible to agree more. If you're going to be succesful doing one of these skits, at least be informed about one or two things going on in the industry to give yourself material to work with (like drugs problems with DJ's for example). Sure, the vast majority of the people watching SNL won't understand the inside EDM jokes like we would, but they're so stupid they'll laugh along anyways.
