I find it quite suprising that so many professionals use loops, and even sometimes the same loops. I usually make my own percussions. It doesn't allways sound as good, but it feels better doing that than just adding some finished loops.

It's not really surprising at all, because most dance music is produced for one thing - and that's to get people to dance.
So it's not how you get the end result, it's what the end result is that is important.

It IS IMPORTANT. Well.. For me it damn is..
What would good house groove/percussion/.. in my track mean to me if it wasnt made by myself and if I have no fucking idea how to do it?
I can just pee on it. Its not mine..
Sorry but using public loops really reminds me on eJay.

well, do your thing then, but don't come complainin when yur percs sounds like shite, and you dont know what to do to enhance it..
Theres a difference in just using a loop alone, not altering it or anythig, and chopping and fucking it sideways till it sounds wikkid...

I agree. Alfi, it's not easy to make percs that sound as good as "pro" loops but you'll never get there if you don't put the effort in and try (and try and try and try)..

There was a good percussion CD recommended on here not too long ago... it was a house one. Was by a guy called Thomas something. Hopefully someone will remember.
