I've taken a shitload of meds for depression, socialphobia, crazy/schizo, hallucinations, and insomnia for the past 5 years and they dont do shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are feeling depressed, take their meds, watch Jackass 2 Unrated, go out, meet some people and if you are still feeling like shit, kill yourself. You lost a Connect-4 Game with God in purgatory you are doomed to a life of cockshit. Your seratonin sucks dick and DJ Tiesto will not save your life
You don't want to get fucked up to my stage where I'm dreaming about killing my family. It's by chance that a thread like this popped up in light of my last night on earth

| quote: | | ...known from a videotape the two made when they met in March... in Dresdens home, Dresden amputated Gabriels penis and Dresden and Gabriel ate the penis together...Gabriel had insisted that Dresden bite his penis off; this did not work.. Dresden used a knife. When that knife turned out to be too blunt, Dresden used a sharper knife to slice the penis off. Gabriel apparently tried to eat his share of his own penis..but could not because it was too..."chewy". Dresden then sautéed the penis in a pan with salt, pepper, and garlic. |

i find attitudes like this a bit funny on a website where we're all discussing party drugs ad nauseum |
Well, drugs are fun as hell.
These medications work, don't get me wrong. My sister takes them, my father takes them. Of course they went through a series of medications before they found one that worked. I saw significant changes when they were put on these medications and went through counseling.
The only reason I don't take medication is because I can solve my problems by counting to 10... Breathing deeply... all without losing my cool. If it got any worse, like myself physically beating someone else, yeah.... Medication might be a good idea But I'm patient, and I have been fortunate to have other options besides medication.
In my eyes, medication for mental issues is a last resort, always.

I really think we all have the strength to manipulate our own brains and moods even if we have a so-called "chemical imbalance"...I believe in the separation of the brain and "mind", whatever is going on in the physical brain should be able to be manipulated with one's "mind." That is if you have a strong enough mind.
And probably the most fucked up thing about anti-depressents...THEY PUT LABELS ON THEM SAYING "YOU MAY FEEL SUICIDAL."
Now come on, if you're going to make an anti-depressant medication, at least make it well enough that one of the potential side effects isn't DEPRESSION so bad it could lead to SUICIDE. I understand this is sometimes a result of patients abruptly stopping their meds but it's things like this about the drug industry that just blow my mind.

| quote: | Concern at overuse of happy pills in children
William Birnbauer
January 7, 2007
MORE than 337,000 antidepressant prescriptions were written for children in a year, raising fears that the so-called happy pills are being overused as a quick fix for despondent youngsters.
Drugs such as the serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) - which include Prozac - have been linked with suicidal thoughts and behaviour in youths.
But, while Australia's drug regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, has not approved any antidepressant medicines for under-18s, it cannot prevent doctors from prescribing them.
Medicare Australia figures from the 2005-06 financial year reveal 75,500 prescriptions for antidepressants were written for children under 15, with a further 262,000 for youths aged 15 to 20. In NSW alone, 23,214 scripts were written in the under-14 age group, with 76,234 in the 15-20 age group.
The increasing prescription of Prozac to young people has raised fears it will become the new Ritalin - the drug of choice for a spate of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in diagnoses of youngsters in the 1990s.
Psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg believes that medication is beneficial, an important adjunct to drug-free treatments such as cognitive behaviour therapy.
"There are kids on this planet today whom I've treated who simply wouldn't be here if it wasn't for antidepressants," Dr Carr-Gregg said.
But psychiatrist George Halasz sees the increasing use of antidepressants as evidence of "diagnostic creep".
Whereas sadness was once simply sadness and shyness was shyness, today they were diagnosed as depression and social phobia, respectively, and treated with a pill.
"As we have less time to attend to natural transitions and natural stresses, there is very strong demand on the medical profession to alleviate suffering," Dr Halasz said.
NSW Institute of Psychiatry director Louise Newman has seen children as young as three and four with depression.
"Sometimes people wish that there's an easy solution and they don't have to look at issues like parenting or have a lot of psychological therapies," Dr Newman said.

eh, c'mon, who has more control of his happiness and is generally happier, a man who spent a year meditating, or a man who spent a year on the most suitable medication developed? (with both being equally depressed before the year)
