Some ridiculous abandoned underground like-dungeon last Halloween. The event was supposedly the last "Nightmare" as they revived it from its death from a few years back. This was the first and very last attempt that I ever make at even considering attending these so-called "Raves" you speak of. I need not go into details as to why this was such a pathetic attempt of a party; all I can say is it was the saddest experience in my EDM history.

to answer your question: last weekend.
Ok, I'm really sorry but I have a few comments/corrections
1) In the early years of rave transportation was not by shuttle bus (I think you are actually referring to mid-late 90s). Early raves were more underground. Parties that came later (such as Hullabaloo) were considered commercial raves and different from the 'early years'.
2) The large raves of the mid-late 90s don't exist in Toronto for reasons such as rave laws (and various other reasons). Insurance issues are mostly a side note. For example, Harvest festival is insured and it's on a farm (but not in Toronto).
3) It is true that the large raves of the late 90s no longer exist, however, there are still some parties that are very much like the ones in the early years (early 90s). There is still an underground scene in Toronto (it's just not very big).
4) Clubs like the Guv and Afterhours are NOT raves.
While the EDM scene is changing that doesn't mean that an afterhours club is now a rave. The vibe is different, the people are different, and the music is different.
While I went to Darkrave just this weekend I consider that more of a mainstream type commercial rave. I think that real (underground) raves have very little rules and don't happen in clubs/legal venues.

Oh yeah , and the last rave I 'went to' I never actually made it to (long story...it was a very crazy night and the party got busted then moved). I guess that means the last underground party I went to was in the summer.
I go to commercial raves all the time though.

Don't be sad, there will be more you can go to. Especially in the summer when the weather is better
