All different genres of EDM are played. This year I believe there were 8 main stages, one in fact that played alternative rock (new for WEMF... and personally I thought it was not appropriate... world ELECTRONIC music festival, where does rock fit in there?) There are a bunch of smaller stages as well, not to mention all the campsites blasting their own tunes. You will hear every type of EDM whilst there, whether you like it or not. Haha!
Anyway, it's 3 days and 2 nights of pure debauchery. One of *the* best EDM events evar! Camping with friends, great music, awesomness x 134987345!
Agreed with everything you said, and I'd also mention that besides being one of the best EDM events all year, it's also the only one of its kind all year. There's just nothing else like WEMF.
Edit: Fucking Hell, I just started thinking about it again. 7 months left, and I'm already looking forward to it. wooooo.

I have been to both WEMF & Sundance and Sundance was WAY better than WEMF. Though it was not all night, partying on the beach all day with awesome tunes just cannot be beat. Especially with the lineup they had last year.

Doesn't look like it. Jesse and Ryan were telling me that they wanted to add in the rock stage last year to see if it would bring in more people (because the few previous WEMFs before that had a declining number of attendees). Anyways, they did indeed have more people (over one thousand more than the previous year), and obviously an even more diverse crowd last year, so things are looking very good for another WEMF this year.

This past summer was my first and last WEMF. It was an *interesting* experience, but the entire sunday morning scared me away forever, including the drive from our site to the exit of the park !

WEMF 2006 was a very interesting experience for me as well, i gained buisness contacts for when i get it going and met many new friends that i talk to almost on a weekly basis and we are already planning this year, the only bad thing about WEMF 2006 was the crappy weather on the saturday other than that it was the best time i have ever had in my life, cant wait to top it this year

Are you talking about the recycling travesty?
LOL!
I agree, it was heart wrenching, but you can't miss out on the fun!!! Just because you aren't coming doesn't mean it wont happen anyway. SO therefore, you should come, have fun, and do your part.

I can't decide what was more of a tragedy, the millions of recyclables littering tweed, or the tatood man, tied down by paramedics, screaming that god can only save us at the top of his lungs, lol.
By the way, I am currently in the process of kicking out my current roommate because he refuses to recycle. He threw an extra large pizza box out the other day and that pushed me right over the edge !!
