The spanking brand new (?) BMW has been presented today. They're one of my fav teams, but it looks rather boring with pretty much the same livery.

Meanwhile, Ferrari have announced the first test of the F2007 will be done exclusively by.. Massa. Raikkonen will make the same test with last years car.

Raikkonen must await his first F2007 run

Kimi Raikkonen will have to wait for some time longer before he gets his hands on the Ferrari F2007.

The Finn will have his first test for Ferrari next week at Mugello. However, the newly recruited star is scheduled to drive the 2006 car, the 248 F1, throughout his three days' session.

At the same time, Brazilian teammate Felipe Massa will drive the sole F2007 chassis for the entire period.

Ferrari explained that the decision was purely because of Massa's experience with prior Ferrari cars, and his ability to convey the necessary information for comparison.

"There's nothing strange about it," explained Aldo Costa, head of the chassis department. "We've decided to have this sort of programme because at the moment we most of all need continuity and reference points."

Ferrari are scheduled to join the other teams for a major test at the end of January, and Raikkonen could have a run in the F2007 at that point.

More conceivably, however, he may have to wait a while longer until the Maranello team produce a second chassis.

Ok, their explanations make some sense. But still, it's odd. Surely it'd be beneficial to give Kimi at least a couple of laps in the new car for him to get used to it?

It's also not a very good sign that Ferrari are yet to have a 2nd chassis ready. The 1st chassis had already been rushed out to make the deadline of the launch.

1. I know, I'm so sad At least I got to see him in action once.
2. +1
3. Yea, the McLaren looks sweeeeeet! The Ferrari just doesn't look sexy enough.
4. Indeed!

No Imola, that's a shame

And too bad I can't afford to make the OZ GP this year. It would have been awesome.

I think Alonso will be great but will the car let him down? I think so.
Ferrari should be favourites as they have two amazing drivers and are back to their awesomeness again. I don't know whether to go for Kimi or Massa though

My predictions and analysis (warning, VERY long)

I wouldn't rule out McLaren. They might need to adapt a little bit in the first three or four races, but I can see them coming through nicely as the season progresses. I can even see them taking on Ferrari for the title, although it will indeed be a tough task to beat the Italians this campaign.

Also, I wouldn't go as far as to say Honda are title contenders. Jenson may well win some races, but I don't think the team has it in them to keep up the pace all season long. It will be tight between them and Renault though.

This is my prediction:

- Battle for 1st/2nd: Ferrari/McLaren
- Battle for 3rd/4th: Renault/Honda
- Battle for 5th/6th: BMW/Toyota
- Battle for 7th/8th: Williams/Red Bull (these four teams will probably mix on the grid)
- Battle for 9th/10th/11th: Toro Rosso/Spyker/Super Aguri

It'll be a great season for sure!!! I don't even know who will come out ahead.

I'm hoping that Kubica will lead in the first half of the season, but that might be too optimistic (just by a bit lol)

The logo on the BMW race suits is backwards lol
