That's basically what I had in mind, Del. Chris couldn't have put it any better.

As for COR having a movie/TV thread pop up every once in a while, nothing a mod can't do about it (hopefully flip through the thread to see if it's total garbage, in which case it'd stay in the COR, or whether it can still be saved and moved over to the media subforum). The problem is, the mods all have personal lives so it's not like we always have someone to manage something like that. Still... I have hope.

This is supposed to be a music forum though, all that extra stuff just diverts people away from it and there will be less and less posts in each subsection.

But it seems like everyone who signs up has varying degrees of passion for electronic music, in comparison to various other topics. I don't know about other users but I find it highly enjoyable to check a number of subforums on TA, every time I visit. If those weren't around, I'd spend much less time browsing which, to me, is a bad thing. This is all personal experience, of course. I'm not sure if anyone else shares the same as I.

You are right, however. We can't forget about TA's origins. If the music is neglected, then we're just any other boring forum.

I think this is actually a really good idea and I would certainly participate in the particular forum in question, but I can understand why/if Swamper would not want to do it. The c0r is usually pretty adequate for general discussion and too many sub-forums can be quite daunting to new members.

music is intricately tied with other forms of media

1. videogames - some ppl discovered edm through wipeout in 97

2. tv - i recently heard Way Out West's Don't forget Me being played on Grey's Anatomy

3. movies - music is such a huge part of the cinematic experience. BT creating a soundtrack for the oscar winning "Monster", pvd creating the OST for El Zurdo. in the past there were several movies dedicated to the current popular music of the times (Grease, Saturday Night Fever), and now we get edm related movies like It's All gone Pete Tong, and a few raver movies (the one with digweed.. i forgot)
