IMO it goes 1000 > 800 > 200 > 100


i don't like the jog on the 200... and prefer the features on the 800.

only think about the 200 which is cool is the .02 pitch. effects are meh and platter annoys me.

erm... WHAT?! a poor performer? i'll take that it is in fact a bit hard to only shift the pitch by 0.02 at a time, due to the slider being short, but that's my only beef with it, which means nothing as soon as you get some practice.

what exactly is poor about them?

Jog wheel sucks - as Allied Nations already said, and trying to get a precise pitch change shouldn't have to be an effort - but as it is you have to fart arse around and IMO you shouldn't have to.

Those two things - whioch are such major parts of the 200, make this unit a poor performer IMO.

0.02 is great, but when you have to try to move the pitch control a flee's whisker and it jumps two positions - thats a big issue as far as I'm concerned. When I'm using my mates - it takes the enjoyment out of mixing.

I felt the same way the first two weeks I had mine. After that it has never been an issue.

You heard it right here Chryz707, the jogwheel on the CDJ200 makes it off limits. So basically do not ever, ever consider the CDJ200 ever in your life again. Even if it has all the features you need you should not buy it because the jogwheel is inferior and mixing will become a chore for you. You heard it straight from a 'supreme tranceaddict'. The moral of this story is, when in doubt, spend more money, because you will feel much cooler caressing the jog wheel of a CDJ1000, trust.

Remember that the 200 IS aimed at a lower budget market and the platters used on the CDJ800/1000 cost absolutely LOADS to make - accurate, robust sensors are not cheap at all. I wouldn't be surprised if a third of the final selling price of a CDJ800/1000 comes from the platter alone (obviously including all of the markups, research contributions etc)

I don't think you'd find the CDJ200 so appealing if it was nearer £550 than £350!

^^ You sir are a CDJ1000 Elitist.. And that bothers me more than anything about the CDJ200's.

I can say that I have never had a problem using the jog dial on the 200's. Nor have I had any issue's when DJing with the pitch resolution issues you spoke of earlier..

Quit trash talking a product that many DJ's have no problems using.

i agree, its a matter of getting used to the short pitch slider and then after that its never an "effort" as some have made comments. the effects aren't top notch quality thats for sure but i find the 200 to be a very solid machine that does its job perfect. perhaps if you have big hands the pitch slider becomes an issue? the .02 resolution is a great feature! very accurate!

i have pretty big hands i'd say, approx 7.3 inches from palm to tip of middle finger, and my thumb is 0.8 inches wide. and i mix perfectly on the 200.
