I love gielens productions, remixes and most of all his attutude, hes one crazy belgian guy, hes an entertainer and the best there is in that area.

Im not a fan of gielens playing style, PvD gets the credit here, pvd is a master when it comes to DJing, a perfectionist who has yet to be surpassed.

I don't really see the fascination with PvD. Well, I see he is a fahking good DJ. Hes a good producer...but it seems when someone questions his style or his current performance, the opinions become more of a personal issue then an objective short term evaluation of his skills, abilities and general popularity.

I think he is great. No doubt one of my faves...but I have to agree that lately he is being surpassed by Gielen. I am relatively new to Gielen's stuff...but I have been listening now to his stuff and I freakin love it. I can't say the same thing with as much enthusiasm for PvD.

Overall, based on track record PvD is the man, but in the short term, Gielen is the man.

My worthless opinion...

wa?? i thought la la land was kinda cool. That whole rosmontag or whatever... rave set was the best!! Gielen is also good, i dont really care as long as the dj throws down a nice set.

Are you kidding me svenson and gielen are the best. PVD has a lot more work to do if he wants to be at there level.

As for DJ'ing, Gielen is a great DJ and lays down some nice melodic sets. Where as PVD can go eithier way....on any given night if the two were playing at the same time...I would go see gielen....cause you know it's going to be good.

I have never liked Gielen. His productions have been mediocre at best. PvD wins hands down in the production department. In terms of DJ-ing, PvD's mixing abilities on a technical level has got to be better too.
In terms of uplifting, Armin van Buuren wins hands down.

I think it's hard to actually compare these 2 since Gielen's sets are much harder than PVDs but his remixes aren't, You need 2 more similar DJs who play more similar stuff to choose a best, it's just down to peference in the styles else, so all gielen fans will say Johan and the PVD addicts will go for him

Hmmmm, hard to decide this one , They r both such class DJs and producers

I would just be happy if they both spinned at a club one, after the other , (PVD first of course)
