and Demoted, the virtual console is one of the main "windows" on the Wii interface when you boot up the system. If you have wireless access, your Wii will connect to the web and browse a library of classic NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, and TurboGraphix 16 games. You can buy a Wii points card at Walmart or any game store and use it to purchase and download virtual console games.

$20 gets you 2000 points, and the downloadable games range from $5-10 a piece.

Here is a list of current and upcoming virtual console games<---

Thanks for the info. I guess I really need to set up a wireless connection then. That sounds really nifty. About how long do the games take to download and how many can you fit onto the Wii?

If you don't have a wireless router, you can get a Nintendo brand USB wi-fi connector like THIS one. Just plug the USB thingie into your PC, and it will use your internet connection to broadcast a wireless signal to your Wii. You can probably find one of these for $25-30 on Ebay. I downloaded a couple Genesis games, and they only took around 15 seconds each. Once they are downloaded, there is no loading time to play them.

And the Wii has 512MB of flash memory inside...It should be enough for at least 30 SNES/Genesis games. If you run out of space, you can delete some games from your library and redownload them later at no charge. The Wii remembers what you purchased on it.

Of course, you could always buy a generic SD card at Compusa and double or triple the internal memory so you don't have that problem. Personally I picked up a 2GB SD card for $50 on black friday last year...so I should be ok for a while.

He goes by the name of Kamek.

Also makes appearances in Super Mario World, Yoshi's Islands (1 and 2), Mario Party (the series) and at least one of the sports games.

On a side note, he wasn't in Mario Kart 64. In fact, those images all seem to be from the pre-alpha/alpha/beta phases.

One more thing. I didn't get the chance to play Super Mario Kart till after I sampled Mario Kart 64 and, unfortunately, I didn't find SMK nearly as fun as most people put it out to be. I think this is because of said order of gaming.

Not at all, chach ol' buddy. I simply added to the intel just in case someone didn't remember him from SMB3 or Paper Mario. Personally, I remember him best from SMW.

Interesting to note about the Paper Mario games, Kammy Koopa has taken the place of Kamek. Although there are Magikoopas you fight.

That is correct. Unless they patch it somehow (if that's even possible)

'Twould be pretty sweet if they did. But then that would render the classic controller useless in most cases, so Nintendo probably would go against doing that from a financial perspective.

Weak, I don't have money for that right now, not to mention I don't really know how the whole Wii points thing works and how to use the virtual console.

Yeah, it sucks that you have to buy more accessories to make use of all the features. Thats Nintendo's way of making more money off more accessories off more people. Can't blame 'em, Sony and MS have their own ways of doing the same thing...like say Sony could have easily included 4 ports on the PS2, but instead vouched for 2 so they could bank on the multitaps.

I think classic controllers are pretty cheap, though. I dont own a Wii so I'm not up to date on how stores are selling Wii accessories, etc,. I think they also sell Wii point cards too, but maybe not online...? I think most of your questions were answered already

Same shit, different day. It's been on for how long now ??

I'd love to see new games instead of marioland race island 72 .
What's next ? Luigi : escape from the mushrooms ?

Buy a new console, get new accessories, spend your money, and play the same game or ever and ever

Yes SNES>N64 version

but, I wouldnt say that the n64 version was ruined, i just say they were going for different game play. They needed wider tracks for the 3d and 4 players. I think they were both incredible games, but I just enjoy SNES version more because its much harder to master.

In a group though, nothing gets people shouting like a green shell coming up your backside in n64.

Well smash brothers can have the same effect.
