Did most of you go to see this movie expecting character depth and some dramatic storyline? I don't see why you would have because you don't draw any of that from the trailer they showed. |
No. I expected a witty, fast-paced, entertaining movie with a lot of shoot-outs & good one-liners. I hate long, uber-deep movies, but it'd be nice to at least get the feeling that you know SOMETHING about the people involved. Come to think of it, I know exactly how to fix the movie.
Start the movie a couple months earlier. Start it, living for a bit with our pal, Buddy. Get to know his prior life a bit better, then go to each of the assassins finding out about the hit. They spent all this time with Alicia fking Keys and Ben Affleck, but I'd much rather ride along with the Tremors or the other scar-faced guy...whatever his name was. Go along on a couple other hits with a few of them, see Aces pull off a couple heists, then bring on the news that he's gonna be killed. Have them all descend onto the hotel, & have the same Doctor/assassin duo working together, but, instead, have the doctor kill him & pull some rediiculase get-away, just like the other guy did. End of story...maybe throw in some other twist then...have it turn out that he's actually a live and the FBI hired the Doc & his partner to make the mob forget about him or something.
There you go. There's your good version of this movie. It's not deep, it's not all over-developed. It's thrilling, quick-witted, and it makes sense.
*Still kill Ben Affleck ASAP, though. Have the guy still play with his face while he's dead, but then stick a gun in his mouth & blow his brains out.
