Your better off adding a few pennies and buying a DJM 800 in my opinion..

Not a big fan of xone 62.

They're competely different beasts. The pioneer has excellent midi/ digital effects options. While on the other hand the xone is built around build and sound quality.

Just look through the dj booth section to see HEAPS of threads on allen & heath vs pioneer.

The xone series will destroy the sound quality of a djm 800. And comparing the filters in the 800 with the xone's filters is a joke.

Thats probably due to your style of mixing. The pioneer machine is more geared towards the crowd who love to add heaps of effects and have the option of midi, whereas the xone is for purists who prefer the control of a 4 band eq and want silky smooth mixes.

That seems rather expensive for a second hand mixer

Great mixer though!

Its not the effects on the pioneer i prefer over the xone.. but the way its built, the channel volume knobs on the xone are 2 thin, where the pioneer are wider. Only 4 led's for the channel level meter.. the cue function you cant split between the live mix and the cue.

It all comes down to personal preference i guess becasue the xones studio caps defienetly make me feel like i have more precise control.

I agree with you on the individual channel meter thing. But its not really a big concern. The main meter is more than enough, and using the aux function to cue basically splits the main meter into half main/ indidual channel anyway. Hard to explain but really easy to get working so that u can use the main volume meter to monitor individual channels, as well as the main channel simultanmeously.

And cue functions, the xone is exaclty the same as any pioneer mixer. Just use the aux function instead of the cue buttons.

Alot of ppl bash the xone series, when really they do everything the pioneer mixers do, just not in the EXACT same way or button layout. None of the differences take more than 2 -3 minutes to get under control and when you do you can sit back and enjoy the voltage controlled filters with resonance control

edit.

Just to clear up. Allen & heath have one of the highest standards of build quality out there, and i don't think anyone would ever claim Allen & Heath are badly built in a build quality sense.

Layout wise is a different story. They are not pioneer clones. Just becasue they are not idential in layout to the djm series does not make them badly built.

Mixer is back up for sale !

Efx didn't work out. Posted the story about it in the dj booth

click me

Anyway putting my mixer back up for sale. Dropping the price to $1300, could go a bit lower if you can pick it up in the next few days. Wouldn't want to go *much* lower though.

Can be inspected whenever, but as the pics earlier in the thread show, its in damn good condition.
