I need some advice - what to do when a guy says he wants to be friends? but still continue all that we are doing now?

he says he really cares for me, and that he wants to continue this, but not as fast as it has been going. he just got out of a long relationship about a month or so ago that he not 100 % over

so you wanna be with the dude and he's saying this?

he isn't ready to commit to you, but likes getting the play. he doesn't want to commit to you because he's either not over the girl and because of that doesn't feel any attatchment to you yet (if this is the case he is a probably a pretty good guy and you just gotta give him some time), or he just isn't really into you, but likes getting the play (this is quite possible, but if he was a real ass and this were the case, he probably wouldn't be saying what he is now).

and to the topic at hand its a real bitch when your parents find out the shit you do. luckily for me they haven't found out about the drugs and shit i've done. If they did they would go ape shit. they have recently found out that I smoke though and they won't ever let it go.
I wouldn't call myself a dedicated smoker as my smoking completly fluctuates as it has for the past 5 years. I've gone for months at a time without a cigarette. the most I've ever smoked was half a pack a day. now I smoke only when I'm drinking which is just on the weekend. I never smoke when I'm sober anymore. my parents don't seem to get this and are always suspicious of me when I go out during hte week.

lol, thanks for that, yeah I he says that he isn't 100% over the relationship he was in - but doesn't imagine that he would ever want to get back together with her again - but it was really recently that this happened. he says he truly cares for me and if he wanted to be a real dick he just wouldn't say anything at all. We absolutly love hangin out together, ebing able to talk to eahc other and we have so much fun together!

well, I am sure this will be ok, he says that it's the same as it was this morning when we woke up together, just now we have talked about where we both stand.

I don't think I am on the same page thou, I think I am desiring the next chapter with him
