yes it is. here in california at my ex highschool they had 5 armed cops(not in uniform) and a few undecover ones.

TBH I never had any cops patrol my high school, and I don't think it's common practice around my area. But they do stop by every now and then to do random bag searches, look for drugs etc. The only people we have to deal with are "Campus Supervisors," whom can be easily corrupted.
