i bought a MDG comp in jan 2002. still running. although ive upgraded the video card, harddrives and the dvd burner. but im sure if i didnt, they would still be running.

but i wouldnt buy one ever again just from the stories ive read. go to someone thats reputable ie, dell. if somethign goes wrong, they'll actually fix it.

Dell does have good warrenty, but the price tag is not cheap at all.

Get one of your friends, who is a computer pro and just put together a computer yourself at the non major retail stores and you'll save a lot of cash.

MGD is sort of shaddy. My co-worker's son got one from them and they gave him half the ram and HD space as to what he had paid for.

by the way i am selling my computer its custom built by me and Max.

Intel P4 3GHZ
80G HD
1G Ram
SoundMax Digital 7.1 Sound
Intel (R) Graphics Media
Win XP Home
DVD Re-Writer

I've had two MDG computers in the past, and was very happy with them. Wish I had went with them again when I got my most recent computer, but I went with PC Village instead, and have had nothing but problems with it.

But, when I went with MDG - I hand picked everything I wanted and didnt get a pre-built package. I know how to build my own computers from scratch (spent a summer doing it for a job), I just hate doing it -- so I used them pretty much as an "I pick the parts, you build it for me because I'm lazy" type thing.

MDG is Canada's largest clone computer manufacturer. It took that spot from IPC (if anyone remembers them). I watched MPC grow from one store to several over the last several years. It's a clone, so not much different than any other clone dealer, but with an excellent marketing plan.

HP has the same optional no-fault warranty available as Dell.

Build your own.

If you don't know how, Google it.

Prebuilt systems suck. You always end up with a shitty power supply, a shitty motherboard, and shitty RAM.

However if you want to buy prebuilt go with Dell.

Money is better wasted burning it in your fireplace. Proceed to buy any "commercial" branded computer if you want inferior quality craftmanship/hardware. If you are truly doing absolutely nothing on your computer except for MSN/E-Mail/Browsing/Forums then by all means buy an MDG computer and or any other "Brand" name out there such as Dell, IBM, Gateway etc.

Otherwise take your time to do some thorough research in building your own computer that better suits your needs to whatever it is you may be doing. Keep in mind, most people do NOT plan for the future and you must realize that computers become outdated VERY fast. The problem is not so much that your computer is not fast, its more or less the fact that the software that is released requires a significant amount of resources which outways its previous predecessors. So with that being said I always find some reviews on hardware and buy something that gives me the best bang for my buck. Far from the worst, but not nearly the best. Something that will last me a solid 3 years technology wise.

My 2 cents.

True enough...if I build my own PC I can also built exactly to my own specific and what I intend to do with it...
