Just remember proper sushi etiquette:
- You can eat sushi with hands or chop sticks.
- Rub chopsticks only if they have splinters. Rubbing good chopsticks is an insult to the restaurant.
- Do not use spoon for soup. Drink out of bowl.
- Eat sushi pieces in one bite.
- Try to avoid putting wasabi in soy if at all possible. Put wasabi on sushi piece first and then dip -fish- into soy. If applying wasabi like this is too strong one can put wasabi into soy (however it is not traditional). Too much wasabi hides the fish taste so go easy, enjoy the fish!
- Do not dip rice into soy, only fish part.
- Pickled ginger or radish (pink or white stuff) is to cleanse palate between various fish tastings - eat it between sushi pieces.
