Re: What do you sit on?

In all my days posting here, I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about one of the most important parts of any studio: your seat.
For those of us who sit in front of a computer or some other audio equipment for hours on end, we've gotta protect our ASSets. I've got a shameful $100 Business Depot chair with the faux leather that gets torn up faster a Chinese take-out menu left on a doorknob. It really isn't doing the trick for me these days and I want to replace it with something respectable.
Any of you guys & gals (okay, let's face it, just guys) ever invest in a decent chair? I keep reading the reviews and the marketing material but it's just not the same as actually sitting in one, and I can't seem to find any place locally that has a "showroom", except for Business Depot which has a showroom full of crappy chairs.
I'd really like to know (a) what you've got, (b) how long you can sit in it without getting uncomfortable and having to fidget or get up and walk around, and (c) how long you've had it and how well it seems to be holding up under normal er... wear and tear. For me the answers to (b) and (c) are (b) about 10 minutes and (c) not so great after 3 years.
Please post your personal preference. My ass will be eternally grateful. |
k u r freakin' priceless babe - tehehehehe
u know what i sit in - it is old but sometimes I wrap myself in blanket and curl up in it quite comfortably....lol
