Honestly, don't go by what other's are using. Go with what sounds best to your ears. Everybody's ears are different. I owned all five headphones (Sony's 7506, Sony 700, Pioneer RPDJ1210, Pioneer HDJ1000, and Tecnics RHDJ1200). And honesly, they all have their ups and downs. I'm with Recess on the RPDJ1210. Those baby's lasted me almost 5 years.

Anyhow, you asked about the Technics vs Pioneer...

Sound Quality is about the same, however here's more of a breakdown. Hope this helps. You should really try them before you buy them.

TECHNICS-----
CONS...
Ear cups are Bulky, too big
Uncomfortable
Not enough bass
Heavy
Sound hollow
I had a hard time hearing on the clearly on big systems
Technics should've stuck to the Swivel Mechanism from the RPDJ1210.

PRO...
They look sexy
Replaceable cord

----- PIONEER ------
CONS...
I really haven't had any, but they haven't brake... YET.

PRO...

Really good sound quality and sound clear on loud Systems
Ear cups are just the right size
Not heavy

I have played on both the Pioneer and Technics. Both are amazing.

The Pioneer are smaller, and weight less.

The Technics isolate the sound incredibly well, yet they are a bit heavy but that doesnt bother me too much. The sound is incredibly!

Its all about preference really, you guys cant say that the Technics are in any way bad because that is just bullshit and you know it.

The earcups are pretty small but you get used to them quickly

you paid 180€ for the sp version? they're not worth even half that.
you can get the regular 25's for about 150€ and they're much better than the sp's.

that's cool. i thought you actually paid 180€ for the sp's. now that would have been a waste of money. and if you bought them long ago, the price might have come down since. who knows.

don't take anything that'll break easily. I have sony 700 and I had to use Epoxy to glow it hehe.
headphones are personal preference, if it's possible, listen to both and take the ones you like.

you can look for review's in google, I do it all the time before buying something new, it's always good to learn opon other's experience.

in any case, I'm sure both of them will not disapoint you.
