My stanton Str8-80s do the job, they have alot of torque. Just get something decent to learn on. Once u get better get some teqs. Just think, if u can spin on some crappy tables, u can do it on some teqs...

Just buy a nice mixer so u dont have to upgrade that when u upgrade tables...

i got the STR8-80s, and they're not bad to start out with. I just bought some Shure M44G carts for them and a Rane TTM56 to replace my Vestax PCV275. I plan to keep them for a while because i'm a Skratch/HipHop/Trance DJ and I kinda need the straight arm.

but yeah if u can wait a few months, get the Technics. You wont regret.

However, if u need a TT right now, I'd suggest the STR8-80s. They're cheap and pretty good. The only problem I can think of at the moment is the torque as it's weaker than the Technics. But hey like someone else said... if you can spin on shit decks, u can spin on technics. However it's not necessarily true that a Technics DJ can spin on a crappy deck

Numark TT's in the past have not been very good at all. The TT-100, especially, doesn't have a lot of torque and the platter is unstable. This is why they are cheap.

Things are usually cheap for a reason. Usually it's because they aren't very good. I haven't used the TT-1650, so I can't comment for sure, but I would suggest that they won't last very long. Numark are trying to tell people that all the top DJ's are raving on about them, e.g. apparently PvD says they are the best thing since sliced bread etc etc. Personally, I wouldn't believe a word of it.

If you believe the propaganda, then check them out. If not, then save your money for a pair of Technics, and take away all possibility of disappointment.
