How can you fear nonexistance? The way I see it, either there's an afterlife, and I'll continue to exist, and there isn't, and I won't be around to think about how much nonexistance sucks. It's a win-win situation.

Either that, or they'll invent some method of immortality before I die, so it's really a win-win-win situation.

You're wrong - after death there exists only eternal damnation and torture at the hands of a malevolent being far superior than our understanding.

I dunno which you would prefer though. I mean you could go on thinking that there is utter nothingness after death - if you want to believe that.

Wow... to the point of puking?! Must be something really wrong there... I have a fear of it too though actually, try to never think about it though and too embarrased too talk about it.

As for your afterlife view, I like to *believe* that I'll end up in heaven after death... and I plan, or at least hope to hit 100.

Death is inevitable. I'm not worried about it.

However, I can't help but somewhat bitter about it. I'm supposedly in the prime of my life, but I am honestly not very happy, despite my good efforts to feel otherwise. I understand that many people have experienced the same difficulties before me, and I know that I just have to keep moving forward with my life, but it doesn't really help. I've been telling myself this since I was 15, and so far things haven't really gotten better. In fact, I'd say they're a lot worse now. My optimisim is running thin and I'm becoming increasingly jaded and bitter.

I'm just really afraid that I won't be able to shake these feelings, and I'll end up dying with the best years of my life having gone to waste--or at the very least, not realized to their full potential.
