Yea, I have a record like that.. it's got grooves on the B side but they don't make any sound. Do they do that to balance the vinyl or something? I also own vinyl with no grooves on the B side, just glossy wax (which is what I thought would be the norm for a single sided 12").
Talking about f'd up vinyl, I have a copy of Dilerium - Innocente that has 2 labels stamped on the B side (factory defect). The first label is fine, but the 2nd label was stamped off center (over the first label). The funny part is, when the vinyl was pressed, part of the 2nd label got pressed into the grooves! It actually plays in the "paper" grooves, but it sounds pretty f'd up!
I'm still mad about copy of Hybrid - Symphony (Original Mix) being warped. Doesn't stop me from playing it, tho!
Sure wish there was some sort of quality control for pressing vinyl, but then that would make prices higher...
