Hello everyone!
Hey Lisa- I met a girl from Windsor today, when I went to this place to get fingerprinted AGAIN (looks like the background check I submitted w/my application will be invalid by the time they get to it so I have to do it again). Her bf / husband (guy she was with) was applying to come to Canada as well and got photos done there. After they left, the old man who runs the shop had the NERVE to tell me he thought that the guy was 'betraying his country' by leaving it. I was like "excuse you????". This retard actually equated it as 'a form of treason', and couldnt figure out why anyone would want to leave the USA, cuz 'its the greatest country in the world'. Omg, I just argued with him like crazy, I was so insulted. He didn't know why anyone would want to live in Canada on the basis that we 'let terrorists in and have a lot of snow there'.
Trust me, if I had another choice where I could've gotten the fingerprints done, I would've gladly taken my business elsewhere. What a tool!
After this happened, I called my lawyer's secretary and told her the story, I was FUMING! She was laughing her head off and said "Nathalie, you know what your problem is? You've been here so long, its like you're a Canadian now". Yup, the damage has been done. |
I don't blame the guy for wanting to come to Canada! Haha
But wow, I would be extremely fuming too if I heard that guy say that. Like you said...the nerve he had. Wow! Did he know you were trying to come back to Canada? I'm glad you stuck up to him though, I probably would have been too afraid to say something to that guy, thinking that he wouldn't let me get my finger prints.
That reminds me of a story when I got pulled over going to see Andy Moor at Bleu in Detroit. I was with a bunch of ppl, including Cale, Dan, Aaron Joseph, Vrk and croatian Mike. The US customs guys pulled us in and made us go inside. I can't remember the ins and outs but they were so rude to us, just the tone of voice they had, like "We're better than you, we can do whatever we want and you can't say anything about it" type deal. We were all extremely polite and co-operative, but that didn't matter.
The thing that really pissed me off about the situation though is that at one point one of the guards was like, "Why should we let you into our country? Do you think I want to set foot in your country? No!" Like seriously...why would you even say that? If you don't like Canada, so be it, but ugh...it was just frustrating!!
