5 minute major for fighting for each player if it's just the two of them. no fines or suspensions. they just keep going at it until someone gets knocked out, or the officials can get in there to stop them.
instigator penalty is a 2 minute minor + ejection i think if a third person comes into a fight.

I love hockey fights.....used to play ice and roller hockey and have been in my fair share of fights. Used to be in a private roller hockey league north of Pittsburgh and we were in the championship game. One of my teammates got tripped up intentionally and fell on his face.....both benches cleared and we were brawling for a good two minutes.....I will never forget when our goalie came out of the net and started beating the shit out of everybody on the other team with his waffle lol. I could not believe they let the game continue. The very next play I checked the guy that tripped my buddy so hard......plastered him against the boards and broke a few of his ribs. I'll tell ya I was scared shitless for the guy.....but that's sports.

fighting is part of some teams' strategies, with the new rules fighting isn't happening as much mainly because of the instigator rule. once a player is on the ground fights are stopped. in other situations the refs use their judgement...
