the thing is, i guess, a lot of my faith is based off of the teachings of Prists and those of the Catholic church who have studied the Theology, the Bible, etc...etc...etc... people who do this stuff for a living. so for a hollywood director to have discovered some "modern marvel" that explains God himself, it just sounds kinda...well...*awkward*.

maybe a poor example, but what if some regular dude found another universe [yet every scientist out there missed it?]

"The names that are found on the tombs are names that are similar to the names of the family of Jesus," he conceded. This is akin to saying that Bush has been the president for 8 years. He knows what he's doing. The criticism he is getting from the media is well...*awkward*

you're missing the point of it, then. A small group of people take it to be pure non-fiction, but most people don't. Proving that it's historically inaccurate won't change anything to people who aren't Pentecostal. Nevertheless, I'm sure that that group of people will be represented by the media as those who represent the whole of Christianity, and will be set up in an unnecessarily overblown conflict with their rival extremists, the most die-hard atheists.

not quite...considering someone who has studied theology for more than 20 years knows more about it than someone who has been "studying" politics for 8+ years]. but then again, i did say mine was a poor example.
