I started out with similar gear to that mate. Its better to do that and get the hang of mixing before you splash out on a top end set then find you cant be bothered with it.

just kind of updating on my adventure to buy equipment..
bought a MTX-MX1550 mixer today at a local hock shop, 50 bucks, and it does what it needs to do, i can't go out balls to the wall and get a nice DJM, but this will do for now..
is there any way to oil the sliders for the different channels or whatever, they are a little bit stiff, maybe some 3in1 oil or something?

Ghetto setups for life. Try and haggle the prices and if you can get all that for 350 or 4 bills max and don't see yourself making mad cash in the future, I say go with it.
Start on ghetto equipment and you can play anywhere. All the "brats" I know who started with bomb equipment all just complain and complain when they are to play on a crappier system.
Start on crap kit for cheap, and imo you'll be a overall better DJ in the long run.

Co-fuckin' sign on this one!!!
As for the gear. I STILL see that Denon on some club setups. In fact, before tabletops became popular, it was the standard digital setup. Keep in mind, though, that rack mounted cd setups are a bit different than tabletops. The basics of mixing are the same, but the mechanics are somewhat different. If you're accustomed to vinyl decks, you may find yourself having some difficulty on those cd decks.
The mixer is a fuckin' tank!!! I've had mine for years and use it for outdoor gigs. Evetually, you'll want to upgrade, but honestly that Numark mixer will last and it makes for a great secondary or backup mixer for when your Pioneer DJM mixer fails (and it will).
The price isn't too bad but you probably could go a few bucks cheaper. Guess it depends on if the person is shipping it or not. You can get comparable starter dj setups for about the same.
