i agree with some form of rotation but to have this proposed rotation of:
2010: South Africa
2014: Brazil (probably)
2018: USA or Mexico
2022: China/Middle East maybe
2026: Europe
2030: Africa
2034: S.America
2038: N.America
2042: Asia/Australasia
2046: Europe
etc. etc.
is stupid. There are at least 6 countries in Europe that could host the WC, 2 in Asia, 3/4 in Americas, 1/2 in Africa so I def reckon it should be something like
Europe ----> Americas ----> Other -----> Europe etc.
Just my two pence worth.
It has to come to England soon though, its the only way we've got a chance of winning it.....lol |
I wholeheartedly agree here.
Not including england, there are countries in europe who are already capable of hosting such tournaments. England has all the stadia built already (with wembley all but finished now) and you could even include cardiff & glasgow & edinburgh for some games if needed, We've invested so much already in these new statiums (except portsmouth & fulham but they just have rich owners so can get away with it)
Africa hosts the cup of nations in many places rather well, however there's lots of countries with problems, also in asia, it's one thing to have a good stadium, it's another to have security issues.
If small nations want to host it, they could band together. get 4 or 5 of those together & use their best facilities and it might be feasible. With china having the olympics, i'd stay away for a bit from there, but take into account how they hold that as to if they can hold football. Other countries like saudi arabia & iran are so passionate but sadly I couldn't see there not being trouble with some western countries. Brazil too is really unsafe in places, they kidnap their own players ffs!
