im talking about online dating services like yahoo personals.

the reason im comtemplating this is because i want to move out of the state, and moving to a totally new city/state its hard to meet people so online dating service don't completely seem ridiculous

If you really want to meet people, a website really isn't a good way. It's better to straight up go to a bar, lounge, event , gathering rather than read some fake profile and see a picture of a women or a man lookin so hyped up that when you meet them, they look nothing like the picture well not nothing but far from it. Don't be a pussy and hide behind the screen venture out and you'll meet more people.

approaching random people at a bar, lounge, event or whatever of whom you don't even know or have absolutely no relationship with and trying to strike up a random conversation is harder said then done, or is that just me.

Setting up dates through an online service is probably superior to going out to bars if you're the sort of person who is not compatible with very many people. With the information that people give out online you can eliminate a large percentage of them right off the bat, whereas with a bar you would need to talk to each individual in order to know anything about them at all.

Whatever you do, DO NOT meet people on myspace, that my advice to anyone. I mean maybe someone else might have a better experience, but I met three people and each time it flopped. The first time I met the girl and she turned out to be more obsessed with Nsync (esp JT) than I thought. The next one I got along with really well, but she turned out to be quite strange and was coming on to me and I barely knew her...desperate girl. The last one...well she turned out to be a dud (her personality was dull, or we just didn't connect in real life as we did online), and then I got into a car accident so...that didn't help (with her in the car). It wasn't completely my fault (the 16 year old girl was speeding). Don't drive that car any longer (gave it to my sister after she was in a worse accident, drive my mom's car now, as she has two cars) and I don't talk to that girl anymore (she got freaked out cause of the accident, but it was pretty much dead before then...any kind of friendship).

What? I think that's you. Well no not just you I am sure a lot of people feel that way. IMO, I'd rather meet them F2F rather then just behind a sreen, atleast in person you can actually feel the vibe and see what it really is between you two instantanly you know? I just want to sample my options first hand rather then blind folded.

Yeah i've found it is best to meet person to person. But most of the girls i've met in person either weren't interested in me, just wanted to be friends, I winded up not being interested in once I got to know them, or lately...not keeping on contact because most of them are just going to my school temporarily and then move to some other school or state. I'm doing the same after this semester (going to another school) so it's hard to keep in contact with them. It's easier to meet people who you can see more often initially. I've met a lot of people online in my time....can't say i've had good luck with any of them.

When I was about 19 I met some people I'd known for about 12 months on the net and basically, they where all complete lunatics and it was a very frightening period of my life after meeting them.
So, I simply do not meet anyone on the internet and I don't care how nice they seem, it's just far too dangerous and when I see the odd news story like earlier this week about some girl who met some people she knew through myspace and ended up dead in a ditch, it just reinforces it.

Some people are not good at 'feeling the vibe'.

But I guess it works out for you - I mean, you are in a loving, lifelong relationship right now, right? And it's somebody you met under the most completely normal of circumstances?

lol, well in both ways (real life or online dating) lots can go wrong.

I'm not the kind of person who searches for someone, if someone appears then ok, if not , its ok too. I already found the real sense of life and happieness. I only need music
