I knew of a couple of hype house/studio parties back in 2005 in that area - just east of Symington and South of Bloor near Merchant Lane... haven't been around there in a while though

There was one warehouse really close as well (in 2006), about 5 minutes away called Wallace Studios...but I can't recall any other parties happening there after Derrick May

I know of a venue with a password along Queen W, but I've never been.

It's likely sniffles was at 99 suds - there are still parties going on there in the side room but they are very much on the DL/invite only.

I was at a similar venue probably 4 or 5 years ago. The door is next to a store (retail front) on Queen West. You give a password at the door, then you go down into a basement (under the store, but via a separate entrance).

The basement is pretty sparse - but they have a DJ and a little bar setup where the drinks were stored in coolers. Only 2 bathrooms though (co-ed) - which made for a bit of a wait if you needed to use them.

It was Queen West near Bathurst (not far from where the old NASA dance-pub used to be).

The one I'm talking about is actually off of Queen on Gladstone.

I went back and forth with the guy who did bookings there about a gig but it never really panned out.
