True, it gives you more hearable bass. Lots of speakers has their frequency range down to around 40hz and are quite poor up to 60hz, it's only the big and really expensive speakers that mange to play lower frequencies. When you do a 30hz lowcut you'll get more headroom for the hearable bass, go for it!
