1. tierra azul (Omnimotion feat Krister Linder rmx)
didn't really feel this, the vocals didn't add much for me & the backing track just felt like a stripped down version of the original, not much creativity
2. reservoir (Fiord rmx)
loved this! am totally not into this kind of minimal-influenced music normally, but with the added trancey elements it really comes into its own. as a remix it's pretty weak though, more of a track in its own right
3. sweet september (Perfect Stranger rmx)
excellent remix of my favourite track on the original album, keeps the vibe from the original but gives it a double helping of power
4. landmark (Allaby rmx)
i'll be honest, i had to go back & listen to the original to spot the differences in this.. it's very similar. the heavy bassline & the acidy sounds have gone, but the middle is a little bit more varied & there are some nice swooshy swirly sounds added. it's ok, think i prefer the original slightly though
5. morning breeze (Atmos rmx)
not too bad, was pleasant to listen to but felt a bit basic & uneventful, nothing that really jumps out
6. sudden comfort (Decoy rmx)
completely agree with SMC on this one, it sounds like a cross between the originals of sudden comfort & resevoir, nice enough but not much creativity in there
7. baltic resonance (Solar Fields rmx)
very nice, does a fine job of making a brooding progressive trancer out of the original
8. seven days to daylight (Unai rmx)
not sure about this.. i think the housey approach could have worked if it were a bit more in-your-face & powerful, but it feels too laidback & trancey. it's as if it has an identity crisis, sitting uncomfortably between two styles
9. late winter storms (Tobias Lilja rmx)
i preferred this to the tierra azul remix, but again it felt a bit too samey, only a few of the original elements have been removed
don't think i'll be buying the whole album, but hopefully it'll get released digitally so i can pick out resevoir, sweet september & baltic resonance
