ehhh in between. like i don't want to rip the entire audio track off a movie, just bits and pieces here and there without taking the time to do the whole thing and then go through just the audio

idk it seems weird, but i used to be able to do it (had a creative soundcard). i don't reeeeeally need to, i could just rip the audio, which i know how to do, but i'd rather be able to just record whats playing. then that'll work for recording audio streams also

Ah well, Nut was saying that Creative soundcards have a feature that lets you "record what you're hearing". Could be why you've been able to do it before and not again. I don't know if there's a way to just grab bits and pieces. Ask Montana! He uses movie quotes in his chill out mixes.
