My old man had smoked for 20+ years before I was born. For the first few months that I was making my mark on the world he would go outside for a cheeky puff. After 8 or 9 months of me being alive though he'd managed to quit. I must have threatened to deck him or something?

kinda reminds me of that commerical for anti-smoking where the baby was in the backseat crying as the parent smoked in the front seat. ugh. gross.

I'm an on/off smoker I've always had to smoke in Garden unless it was severly p*ssing it down with rain, then I'd be able to stand by the backdoors. My Dad used to smoke but my Mum hates smoking she made everyone go outside.

they were tourists too, and it was rude because numerous tables were eating. As calla said, it's courtesy to go outside, or at least seen that way by the majority of people i've come across in europe. They wouldn't like it if I found some sort of disgusting habit to do while they were eating.

ya same here, well only 1 guys parents smoked that i knew, and he hated the smell....

they were careful ands moked outside.. but he said he could smell it and he would never smoke...

So? It's a public restaurant that apparently allows smoking. The laws in Spain are very simple if it's the same as the last time I was there, venues are either smoking or non smoking and if it's a smoking venue and you don't like it, get out.

Shit, I'd have done the same thing if smoking was allowed inside. What am I supposed to do? Ask everyone of they've finished? Please.

there were no signs about it being smoking or non-smoking, which under the laws there should've been, but everyone was eating before these people came in, and even the staff & other customers went and sat outside to smoke. What are you meant to do if halfway through a meal, just put up with people blowing smoke towards your food, or cunningly piss them off? Eye for an eye.
