You've got too much time on your hands mate. LOL !

The reason I only use recorded is becuase 2 punters tried to rip me off....not the post office.

I realise my overseas charges may be exessive and I'm lowering them as I go along.

You say that I have stuff lying around to use for packing....it still would cost money to buy it in order for it to be lying around.
I don't have any record packing lying around as I very rarely buy vinyl anymore.

The reason I print and not write my labels is that it's 10 times quicker and easier and less prone to mistakes as I cut and paste the address from the Paypal bill.

You are not aloud to say your postage costs are to cover you Paypal/Ebay fees on Ebay.

And finally.....I've sold over 700 records on Ebay and Discogs so far and only had one complaint. My feedback is 100% on Ebay and 98.7% on Discogs.

Thanks for your advice...and I have taken some of your points on board.

Jason.

I don't think just because i'm knowledgeable about something that i have too much time on my hands

Yeah i understand that but if people try and rip you off, you just make sure you still have the proof of postage, fill out the online form print it out send it out to royalmail then they'll send you a cheque! I didn't actually believe it til they sent me a cheque for £25! Therefore if someone says to you i never got my package simple refund them fill out the online form and then royalmail send you a cheque. Additionally how do you know they were trying to rip you off, as i have had the odd thing here and there lost in the post.

That's fair enough about not having many at the minute but when you buy online you're not really paying much for packaging look at chemical records, best company online imo, £2 ish capped postage, but you'd be buying the records anyway if you're buying records know what i mean- it's not like you're buying the mailers too, okay they will add money for packaging but it's not that much, and if you're serious about selling loads of vinyl you can buy mailers in bulk. I bought 100 in bulk on ebay, and then it means the mailers end up costing like 30p each or something.

Your point about printing, that's fair enough i just mean that a marker pen is like what £1-£2 and you can use it zillions of time, or you can just get a piece of paper write the name on it then stick it on the cover (if it's a used mailer). And it is your choice to print, therefore you're the one thats costing yourself more money if you see what i mean.

No offense, but do you not understand why? Or maybe you mis-interpreted my post. You are not allowed to do this, therefore my point was was that you shouldn't include in the price of postage the fact that you're charged ebay/paypal fees. I guess this should be reflected in the actual start price.

I am not questioning your eBay feedback, simply that at the end of the day i feel your rates are too high, i don't want to carry this on debating who is right and who is wrong, simply that your postage prices are too high, full stop! And i don't personally think it's right having high postage costs and low prices as i feel it is misleading, or rather can be misleading for people new to eBay...

We could go on forever.........

I agree with many of your points, and I'm busy changing my postage charges acordingly.

One last point, I disagree strongly that I'm trying to 'rip people off, especially those new to Ebay'. If you knew me you would know this is not true. I hate con men.

Let's agree to disagree on some points and I'll say you're right on others....If you get my point !

Jason.

Yeah, no worries. You have your views i have mine! I just mean that selling things at 1p may make newbies think oh shit 1p for this record what a bargain, then as they are new might not see postage costs, therefore 1p with £3.75 is more expensive than someone who sells a record @ 99p with £2 postage whereas that newbie might see the one @ 99p and think oh, no i'll go for the 1p one you know what i mean. Therefore they may instantly bid then only realise the p+p charges later. Anyway i think we can leave it at that
