here's what happen with dave dresden (myspace post)

what the hell is wrong with dave dresden?

hello

as some of you may have noticed, i have not logged into myspace in quite some time. some others may have seen that i fainted at our show in miami, and that i could barely keep my eyes open at the beatport pool party. while i don't have an explanation for why these things occured yet, i have stayed in florida where i am under the care and supervision of my parents and thier set of doctors. the culprit is most likely one of the medications i am taking for bi-polar 2 disorder, which i was diagnosed with on jan 11 of this year.

those who have this horrible disease will know what i'm talking about, the medications that are taken to combat it come with a variety of side effects, some that are so hard to explain, i will just say that they have made me very unpredictable this year which has greatly helped and hindered the andain project. despite this, josh, mavie, myself and david penner have 7 solid demos and another 5 great ideas which we hope to have completed by june 31 for a september release. the sound has taken a more indie-rock approch for the album and we will also do dance versions of most of the songs too.

i would like to thank josh for his hard work and amazing skill in doing our miami pawn shop show for 6 hours after i had to leave. it was a very sad moment when i had to be driven away from what i was feeling would be our most amazing show ever, but those who i spoke to who were there all said they had a great time, and for that i am very glad and thankful for.

i am recuperating and getting a battery of tests to find out what went wrong in my body but all fingers are pointing to the medication geodon, which can raise your blood sugar levels to dangerously high numbers, certanly not helped by the amount of red bull i consumed in an effort to stay awake and complete the gig with josh.

i hope to be back in the studio soon so that we can finish what i feel will be our strongest most intense effort to date. the lyrics are very gut wrenching, yet hopeful, and reflect all the traumas and triumphs we all have gone through in the past 6 months. i am confident that all of you reading this will love it when it's done. especially the song "promises" which josh played as the encore of the pawn shop show.

thanks for reading and understanding. i'm doing my best to make sure josh never has to be alone again in the dj booth

man september release would be very nice!

I thought it was going to be released in 2008

very cool

wow thats pretty awesome of him to admit all that and put it out there like that. I can't believe i've gone two years now telling myself and everyone how awesome they are and still not getting to one set in that time. What the hell is wrong with me??? Next year for sure.

Strangly enough, their other best set evar (I believe it was the 6 hour set from Bulgaria) was also spun by Josh without Dave for medical reasons.

Pawn Shop should change their name to Sweat Shop!!! WTF was up with the $8.00 water? I mean it was a nice venue but 8 bucks for $.50 bottle of water? Fuck Off!!!

their sets at Juicy, and Remix, were too notch, and just like their productions, you cant pigeaon hole them into one genre, they kicked trance, minimal, electro, commercial, I believe them and Guetta were the older DJs who really brought it on this WMC, G&D really mix flawlessly which is almost a lost art in our scene, they are true proffesionls, and help the scne thrive, hope the medical problems pass and they keep on turning out great hits and remixes, I was a fan before WMC 9tracking treasure down and motorcycle are personal favorites) but now iHAVE MORE THAN RESPECT FOR THEM.

Listen i dont want to turn this thread into DJ bashing, but if you read TA enough we all know there are trance DJs, big names, that cant mix for shit, sometimes so bad its embarresing, but lets keep this to a G&D are reeally bringing it on thread, and I know whn they come to NYC ill make sure to go out and support them
