PvD is god, but, he's been too hot for too long, and he cannot keep giving the goods, I expect a bit of a slip from him. Some have even started to say that he is slipping a bit, playing bad tracks. Digweed is just plain boring now, getting too deep, and won't appeal to too many worldwide.

DL his new remix of Member's of Mayday- 10 in 1 & then tell me he's slipping. If anything his track selection has improved & become more diverse (prog house, break beats). I saw PVD 6x last yr, he NEVER disappoints.

Digweed's GU19 is Brilliant! SICK Track selection, seamless mixing combined w/excellent programming. This is his best cd yet.

This thread is silly. It's not a popularity contest. Corsten, AVB, & Dumonde haven't even made it to the states.

I agree. It seems like a song or artist can only be valued if its ranked. But I guess thats pop culture.

BTW Twilo, like ur new avatar. U remind me of the song "Lords of Acid - Spank My Bootie". U know what im talkin about?

Uhhmm... sorry Twilogoddess but the states isn't really a leading country regarding trance-music. So if Corsten, AVB & Dumonde haven't "even" made it to the states, they still can be leading dj's in the trance scene.

Later!

Exclamation

I neva said insinuated that the states were leading in the trance scene. To get really superstar huge U have to play the states. I haven't seen any of them live so why would I like them more than PVD?

Ok first off, I'm going to get alot of shit for this but I've seen Ferry Corsten about 10 times now and all I can say is YAWN fest, the guy puts me to sleep, seemless mixing I'll give him that but he bores me to death....

And however said Sasha hit his prime in 95-96 is out of their mind. I saw him at TWILO in OCT or Nov, the exact month escapes me, and he keep making the club turn the lights back on, he played for and extra 2 hours. Amazing..

I judge a DJ by the length of time he can play and keep the crowd entertained. Any DJ can play for 2 hours, big deal!!, rock the place for 4 hours or more and you got my vote.

So here's my list:

1. Sasha
2. George Acosta (energy the entire time usually 4 hrs or more)
3. PVD
4. Anthony Pappa
5. Mauro Picotto

Tennaglia

Danny Tennaglia plays 12 hour sets all the time and is one of the most entertaining DJ's out their. He also works the crowd like no other DJ can so maybe you should consider him.

No offense but that logic is stupid. Pvd only plays 6 hour sets....Digweed plays 8 hour sets. Does that mean he's better? I judge DJ's on their track selection, mixing skillz, & knowing when to drop the right track (bombs). I can't believe U Put Acosta before PVD! I like Acosta, but he's lil cheesy.

At the Present time...in NYC, Digweed, PVD, Tiesto & Danny Howells are the most popular.

i disagree.. the US trance scene probably ranks almost lowest out of all developed nations...
i would not agree that a dj has to play in the states to be a so-called 'superstar'..
to be superstar huge.. u have to play in europe...
and personally.. i even think that Asia's trance scene is bigger than the US....

Shame / Disagreement

They all start out playing in europe in their respective home countries. If U haven't made it to NYC/Twilo ur not that huge. Twilo is the best club in the states. Y do u thin
Sander Kleinenberg is makin his first US appearance at Twilo 4-23 w/Nick Warren.

i could say the same for Sandra Collins..
and even then.. i don't see any other american DJ's in EUrope.. ever..
Christopher Lawrence, Bill Hamel, Transa, etc..
they rarely ever make it into Europe.. because its too difficult for them to get it..
getting into the US appears to be easy considering how many Dj's from europe heading over there...
