Well if that isn't trance i don't know what is. And yes it's totally awesome. It didn't really strike me as a superb tune the first time i heard it, but then...

Its the tracks i had in mind that I represents some of the most popular tracks last 5 years, which i happen to like.

And please cut your cheese talk, it wont make you look cooler unless you post your own examples.

And since when was Carrera 2 cheesy?

Exactly, some people just think anything popular or overly melodic or uplifting is "cheesy" just because they prefer more underground (stuff hardly available at most record stores, on most CDs or digital download sites (though more "underground" music is being released that way) or dark, serious or minimal (or in his case, he just prefers progressive stuff, which I do nowadays as well but they aren't all trance). But the cheesy thing is subjective. I don't think those tracks are quite as cheesy as say "Castles In The Sky" or "Heaven". The tracks we've listed are just popular trance tracks that a lot of people know and are bound to like, especially those who haven't heard it in awhile and or want to expose someone else to it. Nayil lists "Ferry" in his profile as one of his favorite DJs/Producers which I assume is for "Ferry Corsten" and of course Ferry is noted as playing all of the tracks we've listed over the past 5 years. He's mostly known as a trance DJ, who plays stuff mostly from the more mainstream or just better known producers...those who are not exactly "underground" but just well known in the trance and EDM scene.

nayil, dude it's not cool to come in here and put down other people like sublte who are making an effort to help out other members especially when you haven't posted anything up of your own.

btw sublte thanks for the suggestions.

also i agree with spirit. i am not looking for some obscure hardcore, underground trance track w/ barely no melody and just synthesizers going wild. i am just a guy that's trying to find out some of the more popular material that most people can generally agree that its good. when it comes to trance, my tastes are usually more into the melodic stuff with some vocals on it. underground or mainstream, good music is good music in the end regardless of how or who distributed it. cheesy songs are also good too because all of us have memories and nastalgia to a certains song. for example, every time i listen to "Heaven" I think of some girl who I dated that would sing it all the time.

one more thing. i am into house/dance music and other forms of memorable electronica too, so if you guys know any other interesting songs let me know. thanks for the tips!

nobody listens to trance in miami anymore? i thought miami was every EDM fan's favorite place now... or it seems that way. it's so played out and trendy now. there's an event in providence (rhode island) coming up that's based on a miami theme... i've seen others too... you should be a good floridian (that's if you're actually "from" there) and listen to florida breaks! baby anne, icey, tony faline, keith mackenzie, huda hudia, fixx, agent k, etc. get on it!

as far as trance goes, check out these tracks, if you haven't already...

lume - lume (adam sheridan mix)
jan johnston - flesh (tilt / tiesto mixes)
cass & slide - perception (original / vocal mixes)
russ james - amethyst (original mix)
russ james - redneck (original mix)
maria rubia - say it (rob searle dub / main mixes)
nicholas bennison - cyphon (original mix)
kosheen - catch (ferry corsten mix)
syntone - heal my world (jesselyn mix)
jesselyn - omnia (original / tech trance mixes)
the digital blonde - cyan (original mix)
warrior - if you want me (original / vocal / antillas / paul webster mixes)

Thanks for the suggestions. I am from Miami (born and raised). And there is no official radio station down here that plays trance/dance music. Ultra was here a couple weeks ago, but I have no interest in things like that nor do I enjoy the club scene. Yes, there is big club scene in South Beach (With the exception of Space which is nearby downtown by the ghetto in Miami and still a good 30 mintue drive), but I live in Miami and from my house is a good 45 minute drive to South Beach.

True there are clubs such Space, Opium, and Mansion which frequently features popular Dance DJs, but I am not into the club scene AT ALL. It's not for me, so since I don't go out there, I have no exposure to this music. I find most clubs in South Beach to be maily tourist traps, all hype, and hole-in-the-wall clubs with expensive drink prices. The girls out there are usually stuck up and dont look at you unless you are driving a BMW.

Persay I did go to these places, it would be tough figuring out which song is which. Most of my friends don't listen to trance/dance music much, and if they do, the songs they like are stuff that EVERYONE knows. That's the crazy part about it. Believe me. Most of the people from Miami that are into the heavy trance scene aren't from around here, and that's why there is no actual radio station, since there is no demand for it (there might be one on some weird radio dial with bad reception). Most people I've met from Miami like reggaeton, hip-hop, and stuff like that. They usually only listen to trance music when they are "rolling", which I find to be insulting. Don't get me wrong though, you do got certain actual natives of Miami that are into the scene, but it's not very common. Or at least not as commen as you all might believe.

sounds like you should just get out of miami, even if you were born & raised there (hell, that's even more of a reason). but seriously, you've never liked florida breaks? i'm originally from near tampa and obviously it's much more prominent there, but it definitely still has a presence in miami too! i definitely see where you're coming from tho.
