If that's how someone is, competitive, in their daily life with everything then they're not really living or enjoying life. All they're doing is living to prove to people what they are the best and number one. Some one who is truly good at what they do will shine above everyone else without having to compete or prove to do so.

only in Chess. However, i'm not in it to win. I'm in it for a good fucking game.
If the dumbass blatantly pwns himself in Chess, I tell him right to his face "omg, are you fucking stupid? Why did i even bother playing this for (insert time elapsed) with you?"

i dunno i'm pretty competitive. i like to challenge myself. maybe not in the way you're talking about though...i don't feel i need to have a better job than you...or a hotter spouse...or make the most money...

none of that kinda stuff. my competitive nature is mostly like for puzzles and that kinda stuff...

Hmm well maybe it’ll be different once I’m out there in the career-world. But yea, I’m just not that kind of person who is competitive by nature. It’s one of the major reasons why I decided not to pursue a degree in advertising. If I didn’t get that big campaign and the next chick did, I’d probably give her a big pat on the back and be like, “Omg, let’s go for drinks after work and celebrate”. lol

well, i guess it depends how you look at it. you know, you say how some people might end up miserable because all they do is work work work and they don't even enjoy the money they make.

my great uncle actually LIKED this. he had a shitload of money, but he ENJOYED just saving it and working his ass off. it's what he did. and if anyone dared mention the possibility of him retiring, there would be hell to pay.

some people just THRIVE on competition. many athletes are like this. they enjoy working their asses of and giving 101% all the time to be the best at whatever they do. it can be a very positive thing, the problem arises on when you can't deal with NOT being the best at one given point in time.

me personally? not very competitive.
