Good article. Thanks. This may not be what you meant, but I'm not looking for expensive gear to make me a better DJ. I've seen my share of people buy $1000 clubs hoping it makes them a decent golfer. I'm just looking for monitors that can be played over my PA speakers, and something more accurate than the PA speakers I have - because they aren't accurate enough to hear what is really happening. I do fine with them and promo cd's are fine, but could be better if the sound wasn't "muffled" on the low end. Fortunately the budget is my main motivater - expensive or not - just looking for something to give a reasonably accurate sound. Article is great though - recommended reading.

These are good monitors - I own them and use them for production, but they are active, not passive, and aren't loud enough to hear over PA speakers. I wish there was a sound-reinforcement monitor version of KRKs... but the studio monitors just aren't loud enough to hear over the amp/PAs.
